Building Healthy Inclusive Communities

Presenters: Kelly Bonner is the Senior Inclusion Specialist at the National Center on Health, Physical Activity & Disability (NCHPAD) in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and has a passion for designing inclusive workout programs. Additional NCHPAD staff will also serve as presenters.

Continuing Education Units: CRCC Continuing Education Units for Rehabilitation Counselors are pending. CEU’s are pending in Early Care & Education.

The National Center on Health, Physical Activity & Disability (NCHPAD) works to achieve health equity for people with disabilities by building healthy, inclusive communities through training and collaboration. NCHPAD staff and partners have developed models and tools that include children and adults with disabilities with the goal of facilitating inclusive communities.

Learning Objectives:
1. Develop an understanding of NCHPAD’s efforts to achieve health equity for people with disabilities.
2. Become familiar with NCHPAD resources for inclusive physical activity, fitness, recreation, sports, leisure, nutrition, disability and chronic health conditions.
3. Identify ways to apply the Inclusive Community Health Implementation Package (iCHIP) which provides guidance and resources for community health leadership and promotion.
